About Us
Dixie Tools began as a small family-owned business by John Geddings in 1984 in Sumter, South Carolina. John focused on manufacturing and cabinet shops in the beginning and eventually added on construction.
John started with one small building and has grown into seven buildings over the years, encompassing over 25,000 square feet of storage. Within these 25,000 square feet, a parts room was included to aid in tool repairs for our loyal customers.
In 1994, John’s daughter, Heather Geddings Poston began working at the company full-time after graduating college with a degree in business. Heather has been with Dixie Tools since the very beginning; however, she started working side by side with John to help build the company into what it is today. Tragically, in 2005 John was diagnosed with a very aggressive terminal cancer and passed away in October of 2006. Heather was then appointed the CEO of the company. Her husband, Aaron Poston, along with the employees came together as a family to help keep the doors open and help Heather navigate the business. With their support, Heather is able to continue her father’s legacy today.
Now in 2024, we still maintain the family-like atmosphere within the company having ten employees that help the business run smoothly while keeping the customer our number one priority. Our main goal at Dixie Tools is to provide exceptional customer service. We believe that if we take care of our customers, they will take care of us. We have been proud members of STAFDA since 1984 when John began the company. Now we sell: nails, staples, brads, pneumatic tools, air compressors, air hoses, skill saws, saw blades, oil, screws, strapping, button caps, roofing nails, hand-driven nails, stinger caps, high load pallet nails, carton closers, chalk, corrugates, headless pins, and specialty items such as stainless steel and hot dip galvanized. Along with manufacturing plants and cabinet shops, we added lumber yards, distributors and end users to our customer range.
